Rather than responding only as a general chatbot, it grounds its answers in those materials, helping users explore information and connect ideas across sources. Responses can include inline citations that point back to the relevant passages.
NotebookLM can also turn source material into structured study resources, including study guides and Audio Overviews. Its multi-source analysis supports working with information from more than one document, while shared notebooks provide a way to work with notebook content collaboratively. The service is available on the web, iOS and Android.
